
I work as director of Editorial Services at Gustavus Adolphus College, a small, highly selective, liberal arts college on the prairie in south central Minnesota. That means I take lead or team roles on storytelling from our own channels, in all forms and mediums.
In 2016, I led the redesign of the alumni magazine—part of my overall task of integrated content strategy and content marketing. We focused our look/feel/storylines on several of the distinctive features of Gustavus: Swedish Lutheran heritage, Scandinavian ethos, exceptional academics, and the core values of excellence, community, justice, service, and faith.
We chose a modern design that is clean, clear, and straightforward, with lots of room for photography; and stories that are short, smart, and openly celebratory of alumni and College successes within our stated values. And a lot of easy-on-the-eyes white space too.
In addition to the magazine, I produce video and photo with student videographers and seasoned professionals. I have had a hand in the Gustavus YouTube Channel. I especially like this original music video from some of my most talented student employees and interns.
I also lead content strategy on our social channels.
I love making content and story for organizations whose values align with my own.
